Greetings from Edmonds Washington!
I thought I would journal my transition from working in Public Service to working fro myself as a Private Investigator in this forum. Maybe as I go through this process I will learn what not to do and of course hopefully be successful in transitioning to a business as a Private Investigator.
This journey actually started couple of years ago when I joined the advisory board for the Forensics class at the University of Washington Continuing Education program. I have been interested in looking into the possibility of becoming a Private Investigator as a way to transition into retirement after working at King County Metro Transit for the past 30 years.
This past year I successfully completed the course offered at the Continuing Education program at the University of Washington in Private Investigations and I am scheduled to take the licensing exam for establishing my agency which will be called Fairbanks Investigations L.L.C.
The goal of this journal will be as a tool of discovery for myself and any other interested parties to learn the trials and tribulations of starting a business from scratch. Todays goal being to research insurance and bonding requirements for the Licensing requirements. I hope you find it informative as well as inspiring to those who may be undertaking similar life experiences.
